I know you're getting tired of my internet woes, so I'll keep this brief.

Abandoning the traditional methods, I have turned to something more scientific. I put a statue of Ganesh on top of my modem and am burning incense. It appears to be working since I have had service for a longer period (several hours!) now than in in the last 7 days. It smells good and it works.

My apologies to American Idolatry fans, but I truly resent your pre-empting House last night to get your crack. PFFFT!!!!!

On the brighter side: JERICHO!

Back to getting some work done!

If of thy mortal goods thou art bereft,
And from thy slender store two loaves alone to thee are left,
Sell one, and with the dole
Buy hyacinths to feed thy soul.
- Muslih-un-Din Sadi,
Gulistan (Garden of Roses)

I was feeling especially impoverished today. This month has been short because of having to pay for the appraisal on my house. My internet was down. I didn't have enough to run out to the cafe and use my laptop.

I'd had it today. I refused to sit in it any more. I have a choice whether to live in scarcity or abundance.

I guess primroses aren't exactly hyacinths, but I scraped up a few bucks to spend on some flowers to cheer me up.

When I do get my money, I'm going to microloan some of it to someone. Just as I am trying to borrow money for my house, there are hundreds of thousands of people in the world for whom a small fraction of the amount I am seeking would lift them out of poverty. They are small business entrepreneurs seeking loans of $400, $800, maybe $1200 to start the business of their dreams. People like you and me can loan as little as $25 and fund a bank in Ghana, a farm in Togo, or a dairy in Azerbaijan.

Way to give back!

Pics later of my early spring flowers ;-)
