If of thy mortal goods thou art bereft,
And from thy slender store two loaves alone to thee are left,
Sell one, and with the dole
Buy hyacinths to feed thy soul.
- Muslih-un-Din Sadi,
Gulistan (Garden of Roses)

I was feeling especially impoverished today. This month has been short because of having to pay for the appraisal on my house. My internet was down. I didn't have enough to run out to the cafe and use my laptop.

I'd had it today. I refused to sit in it any more. I have a choice whether to live in scarcity or abundance.

I guess primroses aren't exactly hyacinths, but I scraped up a few bucks to spend on some flowers to cheer me up.

When I do get my money, I'm going to microloan some of it to someone. Just as I am trying to borrow money for my house, there are hundreds of thousands of people in the world for whom a small fraction of the amount I am seeking would lift them out of poverty. They are small business entrepreneurs seeking loans of $400, $800, maybe $1200 to start the business of their dreams. People like you and me can loan as little as $25 and fund a bank in Ghana, a farm in Togo, or a dairy in Azerbaijan.

Way to give back!

Pics later of my early spring flowers ;-)
