Someone was watching
Oct. 3rd, 2006 05:24 pmFor all the bad news I've seen lately, I found this story oddly comforting. A 9-month-old baby escapes from her baby sitters and wanders onto the porch of a third-story condo in Denver. Mary Bussey and her own son were on their way to a football game below and spy the child dangling from railing.
Mary sent her son, Brandon, running upstairs to pull up the child, but her hand slipped before he could make it. She fell straight into Mary's arms, unhurt.
Yes, the baby's 10 and 13 year-old uncles had wandered off and that is a problem that is being dealt with. But if you really think about it, isn't it wonderful that there was this nice lady right there when that baby needed her?
Anybody can shoot up a school. Do you think Mary and Brandon Bussey woke up Saturday morning and said, "Let's go save a baby?" That they were there when they needed to be is a wonderful thing. I needed to hear some good news for a change.
