ABC Alters show, Scholastic ditches
Sep. 8th, 2006 12:15 amABC has announced it will make minor changes to its controversial 9/11 miniseries in response to complaints from former Clinton officials.
ABC claimed that The Path to 9/11 was still in the editing process, and "no one has seen the final version of the film...so criticisms of film specifics are premature and irresponsible."
Meanwhile, over at Scholastic, companion materials about The Path to 9/11 developed in partnership with ABC that were offered to 25,000 high school teachers were deleted from the company's website as, "...not meeting our high standards for dealing with controversial issues."
We wonder if any action would have been taken had not so many people from so many walks of life been so premature and irresponsible as to come forward and protest a film that did not meet the high standards of a company famous for books about teenaged wizards.
