My favorite Dr. Seuss book, as a child, was Horton Hears a Who. I suppose it could have had something to do with being the kind of child who often went unheard, yet that little book still resonates for me. Despite the attempts by abortion foes to hijack its message (much to the chagrin of Theodore Geisel's widow), the real message stands intact: every voice needs to be heard.

I hear people giggling at the various states and municipalities bringing measures calling for the impeachment of President Bush. This is no laughing matter. According to the Jefferson Handbook, the manual on Parliamentary Procedure for the US Senate, it is possible for a state legislature to initiate impeachment. I am coming late to this idea. It was proposed by arbortender and constant's pations in late January. The beauty of the plan is that it completely sidesteps the House Judiciary Committee, which has refused to take the matter under consideration.

"A person's a person, no matter how small." We The People will be heard. Looks like Thomas Jefferson had a few tricks up his sleeve to ensure that no more Georges made a kingdom out of America.
