I broke the cardinal rule of grocery shopping and stopped on the way home when I was hungry. They were having a sale on Quorn. I think I mentioned before that I am a new vegetarian allergic to soy (and a few other things) -- I was in the health food aisle looking for hemp butter (hey, if you are allergic to flax and don't eat fish, it's a great source of Omega 3, plus, it's tasty) and there it was. I'd tried Quorn before at a friend's house. It was spooky. It tastes and feels just like chicken, but it's mycoprotein. It made me feel oogy, like I was cheating -- but not allergic. So, with a couple more months of solid vegetarianism under my belt, I decided to try it again.

Is it me? Am I the only one uncomfortable with the idea of eating something so much like meat? I mean, veggie burgers aren't a problem (as long as I can find one I'm not allergic to), but they're not that much like actual meat. Odd.

Then there's my other dilemma. Leather. You see, I'm looking at a case for my new computer (14" Ibook, 80G HD, 1G ram). We're up at Fry's and I see the perfect case. It doesn't scream "there's a computer in here!" It looks like a handbag. It's red! It has compartments for my PDA/phone and leatherman. Sweet! But it's leather. Now, is it better to get a nylon one that won't biodegrade for 400 years, but will break quicker than this fine leather bag? I'm really torn here. What is the moral choice? (Of course, you know, my dilemma has nothing to do with the fact that the bag will go oh, so well with my new dress and spiked red pumps. That I would look stunning absolutely hadn't crossed my mind at all...) *sigh* Decisions, decisions.
